As Golf Director for the last 10 years at Silver Sands, I’ve seen firsthand how golf plays a unique and impactful role in supporting recovery through structured, healthy activity. Golf provides more than just recreation—golf encourages mindfulness, patience, and emotional regulation while promoting physical movement and time outdoors. The game’s rhythm and focus help individuals reduce stress, build confidence, and develop healthy coping skills that translate into everyday life. The best part for me, as Golf Director, is seeing our clients have fun while staying sober, and find their happy place again!
